Cowrie Pearl Earrings

Cast sterling silver cowrie shells at the ear with freshwater pearls hanging beneath them. The cowrie is cast from a real shell, keeping the smooth dome and the ridged opening along the underside. The pearl hangs below it and swings, so there is movement without the earring being long. Freshwater pearls are irregular, and Kinkel do not match them, so the two pearls on a pair will differ a little in shape and in how they catch light. Round bead against textured silver shell is the contrast being aimed at. More going on than the plain cowrie studs, less drop than the dangling earrings.
