Cowrie Necklace

A single sterling silver cowrie shell on a fine chain, cast from a real one picked up on the beach. The cowrie's shape does most of the work: a smooth rounded dome on one side, a long ridged slot on the other. Cast in silver it stays glossy on the top face and holds shadow in the slot, so it reads differently depending on which way it settles. Chain comes in 40, 45, 50, 55 or 60cm. It is a compact pendant, so it works at any of them, though the shorter lengths keep it visible above a neckline. The plainest of Kinkel's cowrie pieces and the one that goes with the most. Pairs with the cowrie ring if you want two. We stock Kinkel in the shop on Oak Street in Greyton, and post anywhere in South Africa. The Jewellery is handmade per order.
