Calico Pearl Necklace

The calico shell again, this time with small freshwater pearls set along the chain either side of it. The shell is cast in sterling silver from a real calico found on the beach, keeping the banding across its back. The pearls are freshwater and irregular, so no two necklaces have quite the same rhythm of round and off-round beads. Chain comes in 40, 45, 50, 55 or 60cm. At 40 or 45 the pearls sit close to the throat where they catch light against skin; longer and the whole piece reads as one line rather than a cluster. This is the dressier of the two calico necklaces. If you want something you can put on without thinking, the plain version is the better buy.
